How to plant it

Break bulbs into cloves just before planting and set each clove pointed-end-up, 2 inches deep and 6 inches apart, in loose, well-fed soil. Mulch heavily after the ground cools, then stand back — garlic asks for almost nothing until June, when it pays you back with interest.
