Help & FAQs

Shipping, returns, and the questions our growers hear most.

Shipping & tracking

Orders ship from our mill within 2 business days. Shipping is FREE on orders over $75; under that, a flat $6.95 applies anywhere in the US. Fall-planted seed garlic and pre-order bulbs ship at the right moment for your zone — we hold them in climate storage and send them when it’s time to plant, not before.

Every box carries tracking, emailed the moment it leaves the mill. If a shipment arrives damaged, send a photo and we reship or refund — your choice.

Returns & refunds

Unopened seed and supplies can come back within 60 days for a full refund. Planted seed is covered by our 100% satisfaction promise instead: if it doesn’t perform, we replace it or refund it, no return shipping needed. Start a return by contacting us with your order number.

Frequently asked questions

When should I plant garlic?

Plant 2–4 weeks before your ground freezes — roughly October across most of the US. Order in late summer and we’ll ship your bulbs in time. See our beginner’s guide for the full walkthrough.

Are your seeds non-GMO?

Always. Every variety we sell is 100% non-GMO, and our organic line is certified. Heirlooms are marked on every product page.

What’s the difference between hardneck and softneck garlic?

Hardnecks (like Chesnok Red and Spanish Roja) thrive in cold winters with bold, complex flavor. Softnecks (like California Early) suit mild winters, braid beautifully and store longest. When in doubt, plant one of each.

Do you sell in bulk for farms?

Yes — pound and pallet pricing on garlic, cover crop seed and feed. Choose “Wholesale” on our contact form and tell us about your operation.

How does the 10% first-order discount work?

Join the list on our homepage and your welcome email carries a one-time code for 10% off seed and bulbs. One per household, and it stacks with free shipping over $75.

Where is my catalog?

Catalogs mail free anywhere in the US within two weeks of your request. Ordering for spring? Request by January and you’ll have it before seed-starting season.
